A lot of teachers who have been teaching a long time have something called tenure. Essentially it helps them with job security and stay hired. In California when a teacher gets tenure, it is almost impossible to get rid of them. The teacher won't get fired unless the office holder is removed from office for cause under extraordinary circumstances or chooses to resign. The teacher might then become lazy and only give out paper work.
Every time you put something into words you lose some of its quality. The reason for that is that words limit you, there's only a certain number of words to describe specific things leaving little room for variation. Take happiness for example, what words could possibly describe that? You could say that happiness is feeling good but then what is feeling good, we then go into an endless cycle of definitions until the other person gets a basic understanding but in the back of your head you know that they will never fully understand.
Why do we waste time? Is it because we're lonely and we'll never get a girlfriend anyways? Is it because we're just waiting around to die? Or is the Facebook page that we're staring at truly more interesting than the real world. For me, it's all about motivation. If a person is assigned 4 reasonable tasks and only has the required motivation to do two; will he do two of the tasks and except little to no gratification? Or will he do none of the tasks because it overwhelms him, is not worth being tolled to keep going or is not worth the bullshit of having to live up to the standard of a "good student." All
